The Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) today launches its strategic framework, setting out how the city region will become the major driver of the UK economy outside London.

The Strategy for Growth presents the challenges and opportunities facing Greater Birmingham and explains how six strategic enablers are at the heart of the mission.

These are:

  • Growing the number of successful businesses
  • Building sector strengths and opportunities
  • Stimulating innovation in products, services and businesses
  • Improving our skills talent pool
  • Improving physical and digital connectivity
  • Optimising physical, cultural and environmental assets.
The GBSLEP aims to increase the number of private sector jobs by 100,000 and increase GVA by £8.25 billion by 2020, while also transforming the city region’s performance in skills and employment.
