Historical Coffin Works secures GBSLEP support

A 19th century Grade II* listed building in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is set to be transformed into a base for thriving businesses after securing the funding necessary to start work. 

The £2 million project to revamp Newman Brothers Coffin Fitting Works in Fleet Street will receive over £200,000 after successfully applying to the GBSLEP for support from the Growing Places Fund. Read more »

Strategy for Growth set for launch next week

Next Thursday (May 2), the GBSLEP will launch its Strategy for Growth.

The Strategy sets out what partners in the GBSLEP need to do to unlock growth and help meet ambitious targets of creating 100,000 private sector jobs and increasing GDP by £8.25 billion by 2020.

Subscribers to this mailing list will receive a notification and the Strategy for Growth will be available for download from the GBSLEP website from 9am.

In the meantime, Cllr Mike Wilcox, Leader of Lichfield District Council and Board Director, looks at the Strategy from the perspective of a local authority partner in the LEP.

The GBSLEP Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday June 26 2013 from 2pm (registration from 1.30pm) at a venue to be confirmed shortly.
